"Fair trade" guilds use 1.25:1 for IndA-PE trade. Obviously, both 1.25:1 and 2:1 rates for the same good pair cannot be balanced at the same time. Many players trade either mostly age-up or mostly age-down, and do this routinely. So, we clearly have "unbalanced routine resource transfers" in either "fair trade" or "2:1" guilds.
- You need to be in a guild that accepts your down trades (It’s practically impossible to trade high age goods all the way down to low ages without guild help) - You need to trade at fair trade rates. And no, that is usually not 1:2. In the lower ages 1:2 is fair, but in higher ages the value of goods is much more complicated.
The best approach is to find a good guild where you will easily get whatever goods you need from fellow players, and do not care about what the general Market crowd expects. There are guilds that offer 1:1 or even 1:2 trade of low era goods to FE goods for those who want to build the Arc and have all prints collected. Fair traid is calculated by comparing the amount of squares you need in your city to produce 1 good.
